Borrow is just one of many Ball State student-athletes who have tirelessly served in the local area as difference-makers in the community. This is the Cardinals’ third win in a row and improves their overall record to 7-5-2, changing their Mid-American Conference (MAC) record to 5-0-2.
Sitting at 1-5 at the midseason mark, Ball State football has to be nearly perfect in the second half in order to be bowl eligible. Up next, the Cardinals face the 5-1 Toledo Rockets at Scheumann Stadium in Muncie, Indiana, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
Bellar led Ball State in the third and final round with a 1-under-par score of 70, he finished the tournament tied for 17th individually.
Ball State was led once against by Driscoll, who posted an even-par 72 in her final round with a 2-under-par back 9. She finished the tournament tied for fifth as an individual.
With the win, Longwood snaps a seven-game losing streak as well as improve to 1-3 in conference play. Ball State, on the other hand, moves to 2-2 in conference play as well as continue their second losing streak this season, this time moving it to three games.
Ball State journeyed across the Indiana-Ohio border Friday night and defeated Miami, 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-11) in Oxford. The Cardinals (8-8, 5-0 MAC) look to remain unblemished in MAC play as they battle Bowling Green (7-9, 1-4 MAC) at 7 p.m. Oct. 7
Ball State's 1-0 loss to Davidson means the Cardinals slip below .500 with a 5-6 overall record. For their next contest, the Cardinals (5-6) stay on the road, traveling to Farmville, Virginia, for a conference matchup against Longwood (2-11, 0-3 Mid-American Conference) Oct. 8 at Noon.
