Daniel Kehn

Editor-in-chief

Daniel Kehn (He/Him) is a third-year Journalism and Media major with a minor in American Sign Language; he will serve as Editor-in-chief this school year. Daniel grew up in Southeastern Michigan, and has fallen in love with the Ball State and Muncie community in his time here. Outside of the newsroom, he loves watching his Detroit Lions and Arsenal FC, is a huge Marvel and Star Wars fan and prefers backpacking and camping as his vacations. Olivia Ground

Digital Managing Editor

Olivia Ground (She/Her) is a third-year Advertising major with minors in Sociology and Women and Gender Studies. For the 2023/24 school year, Olivia is thrilled to serve as Digital Managing Editor. Olivia is from Southern Indiana, but is happy to call Muncie a second home. She is passionate about arts and theatre coverage and all things multimedia journalism. Outside of the newsroom, she loves all kinds of music- namely Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, and The Front Bottoms. Kyle Smedley (He/Him) is a third-year Journalism and Telecommunications major with minors in Sports Studies and Film/Screenwriting; he is the Print Managing Editor and Co-Sports Editor of the Ball State Daily News. Grayson Joslin (He/Him) is a third-year Journalism major and is the Director of Recruitment for the Ball State Daily News. A first-generation college student, Joslin joined the Daily News in October 2021 and was the opinion editor for the 2022-23 school year. Katherine Hill (She/Her) is a first-year Journalism major (Newswriting and reporting) with a minor in film and screenwriting. She has always viewed writing as a powerful form of communication. She is from Mishawaka, Indiana. Elijah Poe (He/Him) is the Associate Sports Editor for the Ball State Daily News. He is a second-year News Journalism major. This is his second year with the Daily News, last year he was the beat reporter for Student Government, men’s golf, women’s golf and women’s basketball. He also wrote features for news. Zach Carter (He/Him) is a second-year Journalism major with a minor in Sports Studies. He will serve as the Associate Sports Editor this school year. Zach is from Muncie and found his love for sports reporting at Delta High School. When he’s not writing for the Daily News, Zach is either watching his favorite sports teams or is somewhere fishing. Hannah Amos

Hannah (She/Her) is a third-year Journalism major at Ball State University minoring in French. She’s been with the Ball State Daily News for two years. She is now serving as the Lifestyles Editor. Hannah is from Spencer, Indiana– a small town between Bloomington and Terre Haute, Indiana. She enjoys reading and getting Starbucks. Her favorite Starbucks order is the iced chai latte with an extra pump of chai. Hannah plans to help her news family grow and help them gain the confidence they need to be a journalist. Opinion Editor

Kate (She/They) is a second-year student at Ball State University majoring in Journalism (Magazine Media) with a minor in Journalistic Storytelling. She is from Antwerp, Ohio, and is excited to be the Opinion Editor for the Daily News. She joined the DN last year, during which she wrote opinion and news articles. She hopes to continue a career in writing, editing and photography. Elaine Ulsh (She/Her) is a second year Computer Science and Physics major. She enjoys writing about things in which she feels passionately about. She has been with the Daily News since Fall 2022. She was a part of Ball State's Teacher Scholar Program, partnering with Dr. Xin Sun to write a research paper titled "The Way Forward: The Environmental Consequences of Bitcoin and a Possible Solution" which she presented at the CSCE 2023 conference in Las Vegas, NV over the summer and will be published through IEEE." Lisa Renze

Lisa Renze (She/Her) is in her seventh year as the adviser for the Daily News. Her journalism career began at 14 when she went to work for her hometown radio station. Since then she's worked for newspapers including the South Bend Tribune and the Indianapolis Star and Crossroads Magazine.
