A new regime: Ball State Men’s Volleyball’s first-year coaches prepare to lead program in a fresh direction

After taking over for former head coach Joel Walton, who spent 23 years at the helm, head coach Donan Cruz comes to Ball State after winning two NAIA Men’s Volleyball championships during his tenure at Grand View University.

Ball State falls to Syracuse in 3 sets

Ball State women’s volleyball was swept by Syracuse in three sets in their final match of the Cy-Hawk Series Tournament. The Cardinals dropped the first set 25-16 and could not recover, going on to lose sets two and three by scores of 25-18 and 25-13 respectively.

Xavier stays perfect, beats Ball State 1-0

 The lone goal came from junior forward Emma Marcus, who received a pass from freshman forward Chloe Netzel and put it in the back of the net in the 22nd minute for her first goal of the season. Despite 23 total shots, 14 by Xavier and nine by Ball State, Marcus’ goal was the only one that found its way behind the keeper.

Golfing near ground zero: Ball State Men’s Golf head coach and former golfers reflect on visiting Manhattan a month after 9/11 attacks

 It was Tuesday morning. Ball State Men’s Golf head coach Mike Fleck was driving to meet a friend who was doing embroidery work for his team. He was driving to a Hardee’s in Pendleton, Indiana, and he had Q95’s “The Bob & Tom Show” playing on his radio when, all of a sudden, the usual lighthearted show turned serious.

Multiple players help Ball State stay perfect

 Ball State Women’s volleyball went undefeated in tournament play for the second straight weekend, defeating DePaul  and Marshall to remain perfect on the season and win the TRU by Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational.
