The ones who come back: Meet some of Ball State's longest season ticket holders

“As you come through the curtain, it's fun to come out and hear the roar of the crowd,” Casazza said. “It is kind of like being on the team, I guess it is how [the players] come out onto the floor with the crowd cheering for them. When we come down the hallway, they're not cheering for us, but you kind of get into the feeling of a big crowd and a lot of fans supporting the same team and that's kind of exciting.”

Sunday, the Cardinals (9-6, 1-2 MAC) responded with a 5-2 win over the Northern Illinois Huskies (11-4, 3-1 MAC). Coming in, the team knew what was at stake after their 0-2 start.

JOSLIN: Hoosier Hysteria’s impact on my life

On a cold Saturday night in March 2017, I stood in line alongside others waiting to get inside a beige brick building. You would think it’s just an old, uninteresting building; however, it is the gym of my high school, New Castle High School. And on this day, it was the location of the high school basketball sectional championship game, and our hometown New Castle Trojans had a chance to win and continue our hopes for a state championship.

MASSEY: The Colts have an opportunity to rebuild this offseason

As the NFL offseason comes upon us, there have been a lot of questions as to how the Indianapolis Colts should go about their offseason. The Colts finished this season with a 4-12-1 record, a massive downfall from when they finished 11-5 just two years ago. It seems the team is on track to bring out the tools to start the full-scale rebuild in the near future, however, there is a chance Indianapolis could return to playoff contention in one offseason.

In March 2022, the Cardinals were defeated in the MAC tournament, and a few weeks later, head coach Michael Lewis was hired after previous head coach James Whitford was fired.
