Interior defense propels Cardinals past Western Michigan

With a first-round bye in the Mid-American Conference up for grabs and just three games left, Ball State Men’s Basketball (16-12, 9-6 MAC) needed a win. The Cardinals took down Western Michigan (11-17, 4-11) 71-61 to stay in a tie with Buffalo as the fourth seed.

Late comeback, rebounding not enough to hold off Bowling Green

Ball State cut its 20-point deficit to three, but the Falcons ultimately held the Cardinals off with free throws, defeating them 77-71. Most teams may throw up the white flag down 20 points in the final minutes, but Coleman said he knows the team will keep fighting until the end.
