Muncie Police arrest individual in connection to block party shooting

Justin E. Bonner was arrested in connection to the shooting that occurred at a party at E. Willard St. and S. Hackley St. on July 30 according to a press release from Muncie Police Department.

“​​From the ongoing investigation of the shooting, Justin Bonner was arrested on active warrants and pre-charges of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, a level 5 Felony, and Serious Violent Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a level 4 Felony,” The press release stated. 

According to a press release from July 31, ​​A 30-year-old man by the name of Joseph Bonner was fatally injured, and 17 others sustained injuries from gunshots. Several were transported to Indianapolis, and names of those injured have not yet been released.

The Muncie police department encourages anyone with information concerning this case please contact the Muncie Police Department Detective Division at 765-747-4867 or Muncie Police Dispatch at 765-747-4838.
