Editors Note: The previous version stated they were on campus, an update to the location has been made in the article.

The Muncie Police Department is investigating two robberies that were reported to have occurred southeast of campus according to an email from the Ball State Public Safety Advisory.

The reported time was overnight between midnight and 3:30 a.m.

In both cases of the robberies, the suspect approved the victims on foot, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash and belongings.

The suspect fled the area on foot and no vehicle was seen. The suspect is described as a male armed with a handgun, according to the email.

Ball State University Police Department (UPD) confirmed that the Urgent BSU Alert text that some students may have received last night around 12:14 a.m. last night was related to one of the robberies.

UPD will be increasing its patrol presence in the area. If you have any information regarding the incidents contact the Muncie Police Department at 765-747-4838.

Report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
