Facilities Planning and Management sent a campus-wide email informing the Ball State community about scheduled power outages on different days during the coming months.
Four power outages, which will affect on-campus buildings, have been planned from Sept. 28 to Nov. 6, the email states.
These outages are part of the work being done by Indiana Michigan Power, the electricity provider in Muncie, to install a a new feeder cable from its new Kenmore Substation in Muncie to Ball State's Christy Woods substation, it states.
The project is nearing completion, the email reads, and the planned outages are in order to bring the new feeder circuits online. These outages will affect all buildings south of Riverside Avenue at one time or another in the coming weeks.
It states additional reminders will be sent out closer to each individual outage date.
The planned outages are as follows:
Sept. 28: 5:30-6:30 a.m.
All 12-kilovolt loads south of Riverside Avenue
Oct. 6: 5:30-6:30 a.m.
