On Thursday, E & B Paving is slated to begin Phase 2 of its $16 million project to maintain 12 miles of highway between Muncie and New Castle.

The first phase of the project began in late May, early June 2017.

The right lanes of northbound and southbound State Road 3 will be closed near the Henry County line. In addition, one traffic lane will be shifted to travel on the recently finished left lane beginning Thursday.

Drivers should be aware that right-turn access might be limited to and from State Road 3 and left turns across the median might be potentially prohibited.

After finishing Phase 2, which is slated to end by 2018 along with Phase 1, E & B Paving will continue with Phases 3 and 4 in the spring of 2018. In the spring, construction will pick up between Henry County Road 300 North and near the Delaware County line.
