The Mid-American Conference released its list of Distinguished Scholar Athletes today, and 12 Ball State student-athletes made the cut.

For the third year in a row, men's swimmer Tanner Barton and women's swimmer Jessica Extine were honored. Five members of the women's swim and dive team and three members of the men's swim and dive team were named Distinguished Scholar Athletes.

Two members of the track and field team were honored, Regan Lewis and Gabby Sims. Sean Sellers of the men's basketball team and Carmen Grande of the women's basketball team were also honored.

To qualify, students must have a 3.20 GPA or better and participate in at least half of the team's contests, while also being named Academic All-MAC.
