Ball State women's basketball forward Moriah Monaco was named Mid-American Conference West Player of the Week, the MAC announced Jan. 31. 

The junior recorded a career-high 35 points in an 89-75 win against Buffalo Jan. 25 and 23 points in a 101-96 loss to Northern Illinois University Jan. 28. Monaco tied her career high of 3-pointers in a game with eight.

The Dover Hills, Ohio, native is second on the team in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game — only behind senior center Renee Bennett, who averages 17. Monaco is also averaging 6.2 rebounds per game. She ranks second in the MAC in 3-point field goals made this season.

Ball State (14-7, 7-2) sit in second place in the West Division. The Cardinals continue MAC play Feb. 1 when they travel to Oxford, Ohio, to play Miami.

Moriah Monaco statistics

Points: 16.3

Rebounds: 6.3

Field goal percentage: 46.7 percent

3-point field goal percentage: 39.1 percent
