Ball State (17-4, 8-2 MAC) defeated Eastern Michigan (15-16, 3-7 MAC) 4-3 to win the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season championship April 24 – the Cardinals have now won four of the last six MAC regular season championships.

I think if you develop an emotional connection with a team and decide to stay loyal to that team, then it should be fine to root for them.
