Roundtable: Daily News Sports remembers impact of Kobe Bryant

Former Los Angeles Lakers guard and five-time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant and seven others died Jan. 26, 2020, in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, CA. In the wake of the two-year anniversary of his death, our sports staff gave their thoughts on remembering Bryant.

Miryne Thomas, Payton Sparks lead Ball State passed Miami (Ohio)

 A few plays later, he dives to the ground for a loose ball, and while Ball State didn’t get the ball, it showcased what Thomas and Ball State Men’s Basketball were doing all game in their 81-64 win over the Redhawks: diving for loose balls and rebounding the ball.

Block party helps Cardinals sweep George Mason

In the victory, Ball State totaled 13.5 blocks, 12.5 more than the Patriots. Senior outside attacker Nick Maritnski and senior middle blocker Felix Egharevba led the Cardinal wall, combining for 17 blocks.

3 takeaways from Ball State's loss to Toledo

 Ball State Men's Basketball traveled to Toledo and lost 83-70 for its third consecutive loss against Mid-American Conference opponents. The young Cardinals have been tested early on in conference play, as they have gone against three top teams in the MAC.

Cobb: The Pacers should sign Stephenson for the remainder of the season

In Stephenson’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse debut Jan. 5, he recorded 30 points and five assists off the bench in a 129-121 loss against the Brooklyn Nets. He subbed in with six minutes left in the first quarter, and scored 20 consecutive points, including a buzzer beating 3-point shot to end the quarter.
