MUNCIE, INDIANA (NewsLink) — Some Muncie Fire Department firefighters are under investigation, according to a press release sent out by city officials Thursday morning.

In a statement, city officials say some Muncie firefighters are under scrutiny over personal conduct that “occurred without the knowledge or permission of the Muncie Fire Department or the city of Muncie.”

Officials say the fire department has not received any notice that the department itself is under investigation. Muncie Fire Chief Robert Mead immediately instructed all employees to cooperate.

Because this is an ongoing investigation, the City of Muncie and the Muncie Fire Department are declining to comment.

NewsLink Indiana will have more on this story if there are any new developments.
