Director of Athletics Beth Goetz is set to leave Ball State after four years, Ball State University President Geoffrey Mearns announced Sept. 7.

Goetz has accepted a position as deputy director and chief operating officer at the University of Iowa in the Big Ten Conference.

In her time at Ball State, the Cardinals have won 12 Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season and conference tournament championships while 15 student-athletes have won individual MAC championships. In the 2021 academic year, Cardinal student-athletes posted a collective GPA of 3.35, resulting in the 2022 MAC Institutional Academic Achievement Award.

Goetz's last day at Ball State will be Sept. 23 and Mearns will announce the appointment of the interim athletics director Sept. 9.
