Ruble Racing announce Muncie Sprint & Olympic Tris for August 20

The American Multi-Sport will be hosting the Indiana Spring Sprint Triathlon and 5K April 30 with the 100th Running Host Committee of the Indy 500 as the special guests. Registration is now open for Ruble Racing's Muncie Sprint and Olympic Triathlons August 20, 2022. The sprint races are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. August 20, while the olympic races are scheduled to begin at 8:20 a.m. 

The following is the main information for these events, according to the event’s website.

“Race Location - Prairie Creek Reservoir Park - 7801 S County Road 560 E, Selma, IN 47383

Race Start - 8 a.m.

Park Entry Opens For Racers - 5:45 a.m.

Packet Pickup and Day before(8-20-22) Registration -  5-7 p.m. at Prairie Creek Reservoir Park 7801 S County Road 560 E, Selma, IN 47383

Race Day(8-20-22) Packet Pickup and Registration - 6-7:30 a.m. at Prairie Creek Reservoir Park

Mandatory Race Day Briefing(8-21-22) - 7:30 a.m.- Prairie Creek Reservoir Park

Ages 13(by 12-31-22) and up

Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon(1 mile run to start), Olympic Triathlon and Duathlon(3.1 mile run to start), Sprint and Olympic Aquabike, 2 Person and 3 Person Relays for the Sprint and Olympic Triathlon. 

Limited to 400 racers"

From 5-7 p.m. August 19, late registration is scheduled to be open at Prairie Creek Reservoir, as well as packet pickup for those competing who have already registered. 

Starting at 6 a.m. the day of the events (August 20) until 7:30 a.m., registration will continue and participants are set to pickup timing chips, body marking and packets. At the same time, participants may begin to set up. At 7:50 a.m., those participating in the event must attend a mandatory pre-race meeting. 

Parking is on site for those who are scheduled to compete or wish to attend.

As outlined in the website’s “contingency plans”, “In the event it is unsafe to swim, each race will become a duathlon with the coinciding duathlon distance to start- Aquabikes would become just a bike. If it’s unsafe to ride, the race will become a swim and run. If it's unsafe to swim and ride, the race will become just a run. The race start may be delayed up to one hour if the weather is anticipated to clear up.”
