Ball State fifth-year safety Bryce Cosby declared for the National Football League (NFL) Draft in a tweet Dec. 29.

“With that being said, after a lot of consideration amongst my family, coaches and trusted mentors, I have decided that I will pursue the dream I’ve had since I was a kid and enter the 2022 NFL draft," Cosby said.

In his tweet, Cosby thanked Ball State and the Muncie community.

“With God all things are possible,” Cosby said. “To Ball State University, I want to say thank you for welcoming in a kid from Louisville, Ky. with open arms from the first day I stepped on campus. This university and the Muncie community have been nothing but loving and supportive during my tenure here. Not only was I able to experience a great athletic experience, I was able to earn a degree. I am forever thankful.”

Cosby recorded 391 total tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and 10 interceptions from 2017-21.

After thanking his teammates and family, Cosby reflected on who they helped him become.

“To my family, you are all the best support system I could ever ask for,” Cosby said. “You all have been with me through the ups and downs. You’re consistent love and support is what propelled me to this point. I love you all. To my teammates, none of this would be possible without y’all. You guys pushed me every day to be the best player I could be. Your belief in me, instilled more believe in myself. I prided myself in playing all 57 games I dressed as a Cardinal because I felt I owed it to you guys. I can truly say I’ve gained brothers for life in all of you.”

The 2022 NFL Draft takes place April 28-30 in Las Vegas.
