Three slates seek to run for this year’s Student Government Association (SGA) election.
SGA held its nomination convention 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Art and Journalism Building room 175 where the slates, Aureum, Bold and Alliance, announced the start of their campaigns.
The winning slate this SGA election will be replacing the outgoing Elevate slate. Each slate has a nominated president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. Slates are in order of their names being announced at the convention.
- Miryam Bevelle, President
- Dylan Lewandowski, Vice President
- Mariah Bowman, Secretary
- Hugo Madrigal, Treasurer
- Connor Sanburn, President
- Jordyn Blythe, Vice President
- Gina Esposito, Secretary
- Amanda Mustaklem, Treasurer
- Aric Fulton, President
- Malachi Jones, Vice President
- Avery Pollard, Secretary
- James Schwer, Treasurer
While Aureum and Bold have had their paperwork verified and are confirmed to run, the slate Alliance has not gone through the entire verification process, said Thomas May, SGA elections chair.
As a result, while the other slates can begin their campaigns, Alliance cannot campaign or make statements until its paperwork is verified.
Apart from the slate nominations, two senators were nominated for the at-large caucus.
Voting opens for students 8 a.m. Feb. 17 and closes 5 p.m. Feb. 18. Students will receive an email that will link them to a voting site, or they can vote at polling places on campus.
