Beginning Monday, Open Door Health Services’ Family Planning clinic at 905 S. Walnut St. will relocate its services to its 333 S. Madison St. health center in downtown Muncie, according to a press release from the organization.
Open Door, a nonprofit federally qualified health center based in Muncie, operates a low-cost, and often no-cost, confidential source of care at its Family Planning clinic, said Suzanna Clem, director of community awareness at Open Door, in an email.
The clinic, which operates with funding from the federal Title X grant program, serves as a resource for everyone including Ball State students seeking birth control, STD testing and treatment and women’s health exams, Clem said.
More than 2,400 patients received contraceptive care at its Family Planning clinic in 2018, and nationally, nearly 4 million patients receive services at a Title X clinics annually, the press release states.
It states Open Door's Madison Street health center houses multiple medical, dental and behavioral health and social services, adding the new co-location will allow patients access to all services at one site, often in the same visit.
The clinic will hold an open house for the public from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Thursday at its new location, the release states.
